Beginning April 29, 2026, all visitors to Rainbow Springs State Park, including Florida State Parks annual passholders, pedestrians and cyclists, must have a reservation to enter the park’s Main Entrance (also known as the headsprings/swimming entrance) at 19158 SW 81st Place Road, Dunnellon, FL 34432. Rainbow Springs Accessibility Overview

Terrain and Public Areas

  • Sidewalks and Pathways: Pathways include stone, concrete, and Mobi-Mat surfaces. There is a significant hill from the Rainbow Café down to the kayak launch area, paved with stone.
  • Public Areas: All public areas are accessible.
  • Doors: Exterior building doors are not automated.
  • Parking: There are 20 designated ADA parking spots. The distance from the lot to activities at the headsprings is approximately 1,700 feet. The parking lot is made of concrete and asphalt.
  • Flooring: Indoor flooring consists of tile and carpet.

Trails and Docks

  • Trails: Multiple trails are available, each varying in length up to 1/2 mile. All trails are concrete and include hills. The State Park Service provides ADA scooters for guests needing mobility assistance.
  • Docks: Fixed docks are equipped with railings.
  • Boat Rentals: Guests board from a ramp. Staff are available to assist with boarding as needed.

Food and Dining

  • Wheelchair Access: The walk-up food concession is wheelchair accessible.
  • Dietary Accommodations:
    • Gluten-free options are available.
    • Staff can accommodate food allergies when notified.
    • Plant-based hot dogs and burgers are available for vegan and vegetarian guests.
