Florida Adventures – Just a Drive Away!
Another day, another Florida adventure! Where are Natalie and Joe headed to today? You guessed it… Weeki Wachee Springs State Park!
Welcome back! Natalie here. Joe and I are almost to Weeki Wachee Springs State Park, and we are so excited for all the adventure that is in store for us here. We can barely decide what to do first! The Park has everything you need for a full day of fun and excitement.
The Park opens at 9:00 AM, so we planned to get there as soon as we could. The trick at Weeki Wachee is to go on the weekdays if you want to sleep in because the park fills up to capacity every single weekend. Yep, it’s that much fun! Once we arrived, Joe headed over to the Snack Shack to grab us some cold drinks for our day ahead. If you’ve been following us these past couple of weeks, then you know Joe and I love to paddle! We stocked up on hydration and snacks, double-checked that our reservation was made, and headed over to the Springs.
There is always an abundance of wildlife and the weather was great, but the best part about the paddle is the crystal clear waters. You feel like you’re flying above the surface of the water because it is so easy to see right through the water! It’s amazing for anyone who loves to be able to see the fish below without having to swim in the water. After paddling we went over to get some lunch. We worked up an appetite!
The Park has so many options for dining, and you can even get drinks like beer, wine, and frozen cocktails! We settled on the Captain’s Quarters so that we could sit outside overlooking Buccaneer Bay with the waterslides and beach area, it provided great entertainment. Weeki Wachee is truly becoming the most relaxing adventure we have had yet. We spent most of the day outside, either near the water or exploring the park, but we couldn’t leave without seeing one of the world-famous Mermaid Shows! Today’s show was The Little Mermaid, a personal favorite of mine. Watching the mermaids perform incredible underwater feats while telling the story was a great way to finish our day at Weeki Wachee Springs State Park.
We had a great time and got to experience so many different activities, and the best part is that we didn’t even get to half of all the amazing things to do, so now we have even more reason to return!
